Gordie Bonin and Bucky Austin inducted into HoF

Gordie Bonin and Bucky Austin inducted into the Northwest Motor Sports Hall of Fame The Northwest Motor Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2008 inaugural class. These Individuals will be inducted Tuesday, November 11th. Those individuals that are Inducted represent the Northwest region through their commitment to excellence. Congratulations to Gordie Bonin and Bucky Austin on their induction. The others inducted this year are Pat Austin,Walt Austin, Bill Cammarano, Derrike Cope,Leo Dobry, Jim Green, Darrell Hagen, Chad Little, Pete Lovely, Herm Peterson, Jerry Ruth,Tom Sneva, Al Swindhal, and Jack Turner.

Jenna Chalmers has promoted breast cancer awareness on her car for the past two Years with the saying �Save The TA-TA�S. She was the Extreme Cup winner at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton this year.

IHRA has been sold

In more racing news IHRA has been purchased by Feld Entertainment. Today September 10thThey announced the completion of its acquisition. Effective immediately Live Nation Motorsports will be immediately renamed Feld Motorsports.For more information check out IHRA.COM

Race City in Calgary: Closed

Well race fans it is now official Race City in Calgary is now closed. As of September 9th 2008 there will be no more racing announced by Race City. For more information On the closing check out the Race City web site racecity.com.We would like to thank everyone that worked at the track for some great racing and Hope that there is racing again in Calgary in the future.

Boychuk wins in New England

Congrats go out to Tim Boychuk of Edmonton on winning his first IHRA Ironman At New England Dragway September 7th. Driving a Top Fuel Dragster he posted A run of 4.758 at 306.19 mph.
